Width Limit
Where: On any public road where there is a restriction in the road width, for example, at narrow bridges, tunnels, underpasses, or construction zones.
Purpose: This sign informs drivers that they may not proceed beyond the sign if the overall width of their vehicle (including load, mirrors, or attachments) is equal to or greater than the width indicated in metres on the sign. The restriction ensures that vehicles too wide for the roadway or structure do not cause damage, congestion, or accidents.
Action Required by Driver: Before entering the restricted section of the road, check your vehicle's overall width.
- Too wide — if your vehicle's width exceeds the limit shown on the sign, do not enter and find an alternative route.
- Within limit — if your vehicle's width is less than the limit, you may proceed with caution, ensuring you remain within the confines of the road or structure.
